Hello, I'm Dr. Mark Bowers.

During the daylight hours (ignore the photo on the left), I'm a Pediatric Psychologist and Clinical Director at the Brighton Center for Pediatric Neurodevelopment. I specialize in neurodiversity, and have worked with toddlers, children, adolescents, adults and families for over 25 years (although if anyone asks, I'm not a day over 35).

From an early age, I was fascinated by childhood development (real meta stuff) and the impact of psychological factors on children's overall well-being. This fascination led me to pursue my undergraduate studies in Psychology at The University of Kansas (KU).  After a few years working on the Adolescent Treatment Unit at the Menninger Clinic, I went on to complete my Master's studies in Clinical Psychology and my Doctoral studies in Clinical Child/Pediatric Psychology at KU, which is in some pretty amazing company as part of the Academy of Psychological Clinical Science (APCS).  Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

My goal is to foster a warm and supportive environment in my practice, where children and parents feel safe, heard, and valued. I utilize perfectly timed dad jokes, as well as eclectic therapeutic modalities, to ensure the most effective and appropriate interventions for my clients.  I apologize in advance because sarcasm is my love language.  I also never shy away from an opportunity to showcase my dance moves to break the ice when necessary (think Elaine from Seinfeld).

Outside of my professional commitments, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, fronting a real life 90's alternative/grunge cover band, and obsessively following my favorite bands Phish and Goose. I love working out and fixing random things around my house. I am also dedicated to ensuring that I have faster internet speeds than my neighbors.  I don't know why, but it's important to me.

What I'm trying to say is that I am deeply committed to making a positive impact on the lives of neurodiverse individuals and their families. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you and your family!
